Central Government Scholarship (Fellowship) Scheme for Engineering Students in India

Central Government Scholarship (Fellowship) Scheme for Engineering Students in India

Education is essential for all candidates. It not only widens the mentality of the person, but also assists them to attain success. The students in India have merit, but not all of them have financial power to fund higher education. Thousands of engineering colleges have come up in the past decade. The number of seats in government engineering institutes is limited. So, a massive percentage of candidates have to settle for the private colleges. The fee that these establishments charge is rather high for average middle class families. Not all get education loans from banks. So, many dreams die even before they see the light of day. The central and state governments, along with many organizations offer financial grants to students to assist them in their academic journey.

Scholarship (Fellowship) Scheme for Engineering Students

Criteria to attain scholarship

There are mainly three criteria, based on which the government or the organizations select the deserving candidates. Firstly, they judge the merit of the student who wished to pursue engineering. The candidates must secure high marks in the entrance exams.

The second parameter, on which the institutes and government select the candidates, is the community. Special arrangements are available for students of SC/SC/OBC and minority classes. A certain number of seats and grant are reserved for them.

The third factor that plays a vital role in selection of the candidates is the overall income of the student’s family during a financial year. In case the income is low, they will not be able to provide the money necessary to pay engineering fee. Low family income also bars them from getting education loan.
