Key features of the scheme 

  1. Development of academic department – Successful implementation of the scheme will play an important role in improving the prevailing condition in the education system of the state. 
  2. Encouraging students – The main aim of the project is to develop and encourage students so that they are able to pursue their academic goals easily. 
  3. Financial grants for the beneficiaries – As per the announcement of the Chief Minister, each beneficiary of the scheme will be given rupees 20000 as financial help.
  4. Selected academic streams – The scheme benefits can be accessed by the students who pursue higher education in engineering or the medical field. Students from other streams cannot avail of the scheme perks. Other than this, students belonging to the MBA, B.Ed, and MCA department can get the scheme benefits.
  5. Estimated beneficiary count – After successful implementation of the above-said scheme, near about 2.50 lakhs beneficiaries will be offered the scheme benefits.
  6. Allocated budget – The state government has sanctioned a total of rupees 2000 crore for the successful implementation of the scheme. 
  7. Students in college hostels – The students who opt for hostels in university or colleges will also get the scheme benefits. 
  8. Scholarship transfer via DBT – For successful implementation of the scheme and transparency of the scheme management, the state government is offering financial help under the above-said scheme. The financial help will be deposited directly in the linked bank account of the selected beneficiaries. 

Eligibility for applying under the scheme

  1. Must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh – The state government will accept the application only from the permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh. 
  2. Must pursue higher education – applicants who wish to avail the scheme benefits should pursue higher education, and they should take admission in college in any of the above-said courses.
  3. Income limit – The annual income limit of the candidate’s family should not be more than rupees 2.50 lakhs. In that case, they will not be able to avail of the benefits under the above-said scheme.
  4. BPL and EWS categories only – Only the applicants belonging to EWS and BPL category can apply for the benefits of the scheme. For this, they have to produce a suitable certificate at the time of registration.
  5. Not applicable for distant education applicants – The interested candidate should pursue any of the above-said courses through regular mode. In case they pursue the course through a distant mode, they will not be eligible to get the scheme benefits.
  6. For sanitation workers’ and drivers’ wards – In case the candidates are sanitation workers’ and drivers’ wards, they are eligible to avail the scheme benefits provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria related to the scheme.

Documents required for the application 

  1. Residential documents – Without suitable residential proof and documents, the students will not be allowed to get the scheme benefits. The documents should be issued by the state government that shall help the candidate to get a scholarship.
  2. Aadhaar card – Every applicant should produce a photocopy of the Aadhaar card to help the officials run a background check on the candidates. This helps to know whether the candidate is a native of the state or not.
  3. College admission certificate – Certificates that help to justify that the candidates have taken admission to college or universities in the above mentioned sources should be produced at the time of registration for the scheme. 
  4. Admission fee receipt – The student should provide a receipt of the admission fee of university or college at the time of registration.
  5. Income certificate – It is necessary to furnish the income certificate of parents of the candidate. If the income limit matches the one mentioned by the state government, the candidate can get the benefits.
  6. BPL and EWS certificates – If students belong to BPL or EWS group, the certificates should be mentioned at the time of registration. 
  7. Parents’ occupational certificate – The occupational certificate of candidate’s parents should be furnished to ensure that the candidates are eligible to get the benefits. 
  8. Non-tax payer declaration – The candidate has to submit that their parents are non-taxpayer. This is necessary to be eligible to get the scheme perks. 
  9. Bank account details – The bank details such as bank account, passbook, IFSC code and other important details should be provided. It shall help to link the bank account of the candidate at the time of submitting the application form.
