The state government of Andhra Pradesh is coming up with schemes for the welfare of the people of the state. The government launches scheme for every now and then and recently the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has launched a scheme called YSR Kapari Bandhu Scheme. Key feature of the scheme

  • Development of the shepherd communities – Earlier the government could not do much for the shepherds of the state. With the launch of the scheme the state government believes to do some development to the community.
  • Ensuring financial and social security- The scheme is going to strengthen the social security of the beneficiaries besides providing financial assistance.
  • Financial assistance- According to the rule of the scheme, the Andhra Pradesh government will provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries. However, the amount of the assistance is not decided yet.
  • Sheep purchasing- With the help of the financial aid the beneficiary will be able to buy sheep. The beneficiary shepherd will be able to buy 20 sheep.
  • Subsidy on loan- the scheme will help the beneficiary to get subsidy on their loan. The beneficiary will get 30% subsidy on the loan amount of 1.5 lakhs rupees. It will help to reduce the burden of loan from the shepherd.
  • Time period for the scheme- Once the scheme is implemented for the shepherds the government will make it work for consecutive four years. The authority is hoping that, the scheme will help to bring significant development among the needy shepherds.
  • Total number of beneficiaries- According to the report of Andhra Pradesh government there will be 50, 000 beneficiaries of the scheme.
  • Budget allocated for the scheme- The state government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to fix 200 crore rupees for the scheme. According to the sources, to improve the condition of the beneficiaries, the government has allocated the amount. However, it is initially decided so if requires more money will be allocated.
  • Payment mode- To make the money transfer transparent, the government has decided to go for direct transfer. So the money will be credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.

Eligibility criteria for the scheme

  • Resident of Andhra Pradesh- In order to become beneficiary of the scheme you need to be the resident of the state.
  • Only for shepherd communities- according to the rule of the scheme, the scheme is available for the candidates who belong to the Golla and Kuruma communities. Only they can allow for the scheme to get all the benefits of the scheme.
  • BPL applicants- As per the rules of the scheme, the candidate belong to BPL category will be eligible for the scheme.
  • Personal bank account- As the government has decided to credit money to the beneficiary’s bank account directly, so the interested candidates need to have personal bank account. Without bank account the candidate will not be able to apply for the scheme.

Document necessary for application

  • Residential documents- As it is said earlier that the scheme is for the residents of Andhra Pradesh; so, the interested candidates have to submit legal papers that can used as residential proof at the time of application.
  • Personal identification documents- to apply for the scheme, the candidates have to submit the photocopy identity card like photo copy of Aadhar card at the time of registration.
  • Occupational documents- As the scheme is entitled for the shepherds of the state so at the time of application one needs to submit document that supports your occupation. The government will accept the documents that are authorized by the State Golla and Kuruma Associations.
  • BPL certificate- As the scheme is applicable for the BPL candidates as well so if you belong to BPL category and you want to apply then you need to submit the copy of your BPL certificate at the time of application.
  • Loan documents- the scheme will provide subsidy on loan so any candidate who is on loan needs to submit loan documents at the time of application to the authority.
  • Bank account details- The candidates need to submit all the documents related to bank account at the time of application. The account needs to be linked with candidate’s Aadhar card.

How to attain registration form and apply?

The scheme is launched recently so only the details of the scheme are out now. The authority has not declared any information about application. It is believed that the government will opt for both off line and online application so that all candidates can apply for the scheme. For the online application the government will have to launch a separate portal so that interested candidates can apply. However, still we are waiting for the government’s declaration and once it is released you will be confirmed. 

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is doing commendable jobs by coming up with interesting scheme for the betterment of the people of Andhra. The scheme for shepherd is also a unique step taken by the government. It will help the shepherd to get a better life as they will be given financial aid. The scheme is all about improving the financial condition of a community that has been overlooked.
